Clarkson University uses an IP system for on campus calls and T1 once calls leave campus. From University offices, a long distance PIN is required to make off campus calls and faxes. Cell phones can be ordered taking advantage of our University Discount.
Students
Clarkson University offers dial tone service to dorm rooms only upon request. The cost is $100 per room per semester. Roommates sharing phone service split the cost. This service allows you to dial on-campus numbers without a charge and to dial off-campus numbers using a PIN or calling card. You can make your request for phone service in the spring through the online housing contract. There are fees for terminating service.
Hall Phones are availble on each floor of Brooks, Ross, Cubley, Reynolds, Farrisee, Newell, Ormsby, Thomas, Hamlin, Powers, Donahue, Olsen, Van Note, Wilson, Moore and Congdon.

On-Campus Calls: Dial 4-digit extension
Local Calls (Staff/Faculty): 9 + number
Local Calls (Student): Dial *5 + PIN + 9 + number
Domestic Long-Distance Calls: Dial *5 + PIN + 9 + 1 + area code + number
International Calls: Dial *5 + PIN + 9 + 0-1-1 + number
Toll-Free Calls: Dial 9 + 1 + number
