Overview

The Clarkson University Network consists of a fiber backbone network with 10/100 Ethernet, copper-based and 802.11b/g/n wireless edge network connectivity.

Available To

Current faculty, staff and students.

Features

• Basic network connectivity, both on- and off-campus.

Requirements

A computer with an Ethernet or WiFi card.

Data Security Restrictions

Sensitive data should not be transmitted without the use of encryption.

Support

Support is available through the HelpDesk.

Cost

Existing network drops are provided at no cost. Installation of new wired network ports are provided at a cost. The ability of OIT to install connections is based on complexity and workload. If OIT is unable to perform the work for any reason, the work will be referred to an off-campus vendor. OIT will coordinate the work and bill the department directly. Work performed by off-campus vendors may be charged at a higher rate. OIT will advise the customer of the method of work and cost before any service is performed.
