Unscheduled Moodle downtime

A critical component of the campus Moodle system suffered an unscheduled outage this afternoon, beginning at 4:30pm, resulting in a complete outage of the Moodle system.  OIT staff will be working throughout the evening and early morning to restore service as quickly as possible.  We do not anticipate that any data will be lost as a result of this outage, but we do anticipate that the system will continue to be unavailable until approximately 6:00am tomorrow morning.

EDIT:  Service was restored at approximately 10:00pm on 13 Sept 2013.
